How to add deductions u/s 80G?

Section 80G allows Individuals, HUFs, and businesses to claim income tax deductions for donations made to certain relief funds and charitable institutions. However, only donations made to funds prescribed by the government of India qualify as a deduction.


Adding deductions u/s 80G

If you are someone who believes Small acts of giving create big impacts, and made some donations over the year, you can claim deductions on the same,

  1. Navigate to Save > Begin/Edit > Deductions > Add/Proceed.
  2. Select Section 80G and click on Proceed.
  3. Add the following details,
    • Name of the Organization
    • Donation Type
    • Amount
  4. Once you have added the investment amount correctly, click on Save.

Want to see the deductions that you just added? Go to the summary view under, Tax Situation > Deductions.
