Steps to add Capital Gains manually:
Here are ways to add Capital Gains manually:
- Navigate to File > Capital Gains > Add Securities
- Select Add Manually
- Proceed by entering Account details
- Choose the nature of settlement you want to add
- Tradewise - reporting each trade or transaction individually
- Scripwise - consolidates all transactions of the same scrip into a single summary
- As per Broker's Tax P&L report, enter the following details:
Details Tradewise ScripwiseAsset Type Categorize as Equity / Debt / Other Categorize as Equity / Debt / Other Listed or Unlisted Specify if the asset is Listed or Unlisted Specify if the asset is Listed or Unlisted Description Enter the name of the specific trade Enter the name of the consolidated scrip ISIN For each trade For any one trade of the same scrip Quantity Enter the total quantity purchased in a single transaction Enter 1 entry for the same scrip Buy Date and Sell Date Specify the Buy Date and Sell Date for each trade Not applicable Holding Period Not applicable Specify as Long Term or Short Term based on holding duration Buy Price and Sell Price Enter the Buy Price and Sell Price per unit Enter the total Buy Price and Sell Price for the same scrip FMVProvide Fair Market Value where applicable Not applicable Transfer ExpenseEnter the Transfer Expense incurred for each trade Enter the total Transfer Expense for the same scrip
Once the details are saved, the system will automatically calculate the P&L.
