If you're an investor buying and selling stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other capital assets, it's important to report your capital gains or losses while filing your Income Tax Returns (ITR).
Steps to add Capital Gains Income?
Here are ways to add your capital gains income:
- Import from Investment apps
You can connect your broker’s app to import settlements directly from the top brokers integrated with us.
- Navigate to File > Capital Gains > Add Securities
- Click on Import from Investments
- Select your broker and click on Connect
- Login to your account.
- Once connected, all your data for capital gains will be imported automatically.
Broker isn't listed with us? Don't worry, you can still import your data using a P&L report or Add Manually.
- Import using P&L report
If you have multiple settlements, you can use the P&L report to map your trade details according to the asset type.- Navigate to File > Capital Gains > Add Securities
- Click on Upload P&L report
- Proceed by entering Account details
- Scroll and download the Excel template by Quicko
- Fill in your trade details according to your broker’s P&L report
- Upload the P&L report and you are all set.
- Add Manually
If you have few settlements, you can add trade details manually.- Navigate to File > Capital Gains > Add securities
- Click on Add Manually and enter your account details
- Select between scrip-wise or trade-wise
- Enter the details of the asset sold, such as:
- Asset type (e.g., stocks, mutual funds)
- Buy and sell details (date, price, quantity)
- Other required fields
You can refer to your broker’s Tax P&L report to get the necessary details.
- Once details are entered, click on Save.
